Philips of course is a large Dutch multinational and before 1930 sold overseas made radios in Australia.

In 1930 the Government introduced import restrictions to encourage local manufacturers. Philips had two choices at this time, get a local company to make their sets or establish a factory.

They opted for the second path and produced a fairly pedestrian range of radios, none of which would be regarded as highly collectable.

Included in this section are post 1940 model Mullard radio's that were manufactured by Philips.
